New weather stations added to Plangarden vegetable software
By roystahl | February 4, 2008
With a dash of AJAX, web 2.0 style and Google maps mashup, Plangarden got some new features and a face-lift.
Shared gardens was a quick hack and was always meant to be a launching point for many new features to help bring vegetable gardeners together. First it has been cleaned up to have more of an application feel to it. Icons have been added along with a nice legend. The big news was added in weather station locations and allowing the user to select their frost dates based on the weather stations historical data.
Of course knowing when to plant could benefit from leveraging this features, so that page was updated as well will a link to take people to the page and get the spring and fall frost dates automatically.
What makes this even more fun is to have more trick up my sleeve and knowing there is so much more that can be done to help vegetable gardeners.
